Printmaking > KASTERLEE Print Suite

In the summer of 2011 I had the opportunity to complete a printmaking residency at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Kasterlee, Belgium. During the month long visual research trip I began to document the outside surroundings of the Centrum. While on meditative walks during the morning hours before dusk I began to photograph textures, rhythms and territories that felt at some point familiar yet alien. Utilizing a DIY digital pinhole camera modification and the process of photogravure I began creating a small suite of prints focused on the timeless nature of photography, rural architecture and the minutia of textures and space that relate to the complexities of our bodies presence in a foreign space.
