1st in a series of ongoing sculptural works to combine into BOX FACTORY. This "station" is active throughout the duration of its exhibition complete with DJ Docent. Vinyl record collection stems from my collection, the first record received in 1986 to the last before leaving Chicago, IL, USA for Canada in 2007.
This sculptural work, as the same as the rest in BOX FACTORY, incorporates a secondary mechanical system to eventually linking together creating a large scale installation with the goal of fabricating small boxes similar to ones created for For Whom You Build but in commercial volume. The entirety of BOX FACTORY is designed as a contemporary reinterpretation of the self portrait as product and artist as producer.
