True Story is a double sided low-relief sculpture made from pure copper. It is a 1:1 recreation of a 1943 US steel penny but in copper.

The 1943 steel penny was created by the US Mint in response for the need of copper for bullets and artillery shells during WWII. No copper pennies exist in circulation.

Re-crafting this object in its new form proposes many ideas, one most important if there was no war what histories would not have occurred.
