In presentation with sculptural work "PAIN" is this video work displaying for the audience the manner in which PAIN is created from mundane or "Democratic" materials; Rust, Water, Flour, Fire, Labour. The video work is presented in conjunction with PAIN. PAIN is created the day of the opening of the exhibition by the curator of the exhibition. Their hands are documented before, halfway and after the creation of the sculpture as memorial images.
The video is created with subtle manipulations to timing and sound, the sound being recorded in post via foley staging. These subtle manipulations slowly reveal themselves over time as the work goes through extensive transformation from dry to wet to body.
At the conclusion of the exhibition PAIN is buried in the place of the curators choosing.
